Goals

The lists below include aspirations and accomplishments in my life. I hope to use this forum as a way to motivate myself to have a fun, meaningful life, while also reflecting on the successes in life that I’ve already made.

PAST Accomplishments

  • Finished university (B.Sc. 2010; M.A. 2015)
  • Countries worked: Canada, Ghana, Nicaragua, Uganda, England, Kenya, Pakistan
  • Countries traveled: USA, Mexico, St. Lucia, Rwanda, Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Wales
  • Donated blood 76 times (now banned for life, unfortunately, due to malaria)
  • Ran a 5K in Edmonton (2013) and a half marathon (2h:23m) in Brighton (2015)
  • Nominated and featured in Alberta Council for Global Cooperation’s Top 30 Under 30 (2014)
  • Film festivals: SXSW in Austin, TX (2011, 2012), Global Visions in Edmonton, AB (2012, 2013), HRW in London, UK (2015)
  • Conferences: TEDxEdmonton (2012), EWB Canada (2013, 2014), LSE IOC (2014), Friends of MSF (2015)
  • Became a PADI-certified SCUBA diver with dives in Hawaii (2009, 2013)
  • Surfed of the coasts of Hawaii (2009, 2013), Ghana (2012), and Nicaragua (2014)
  • Cliff jumping in Somoto Canyon, Nicaragua (2014)
  • Witnessed a solar eclipse (2015)

PRESENT Goals

  • Write a weekly blog about MSF

FUTURE Dreams

  • Run a full marathon
  • Become fluent in French and then next Spanish
  • Travel through Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas
  • Attend more conferences, like Conference of World Affairs at UC-Boulder
  • Ride the ‘Vomit Comet’ and experience zero-g weightlessness
  • Feel the rush of skydiving and/or bungee jumping
  • Attend/survive a Butt-Numb-A-Thon
  • See the Northern and/or Southern Lights
